Weather

The climate of Sendai is moderate in summer but very cool in winter because of northern area of Honshu island. From June through September , the weather is warm and humid with an average temperature of 22℃. December through February is cool and dry with an average of 2℃ owing to the cold wind blowing from the north.

Aoba Castle

Lord Date Masamune's castle was built some 400 years ago and these days, alas,is in ruins. Only the stone walls and the restored turret Ushitora-yagura remains, but with the addition of an equestrain statue of Lord Date Masamune, they have been turned into an interesting historic memorial to Sendai's feudal founding father.

Sendai is the capital of Miyagi prefecture and the largest city in the Tohoku region.Sendai offers shopping avenues ranging from modern department store to colourful street stalls, some big electrical appliance stores and retail goods from all over the world.
